Who we are?

Nova Closet is an organization that supports foster youth and foster parents by providing essential items and advocacy. Inspired by lived experience, our mission is to ensure that every child entering foster care has access to hygiene products, comfort items, and the support they need to thrive.

What we do?

We partner with local businesses, schools, and community members to collect and distribute hygiene products, diapers, pajamas, comfort items, and other essentials. These items are packaged into "Nova Bags" and distributed to children transitioning into foster care. We also offer support resources for foster families and help with recruitment and retention of foster parents across Mississippi.

Why this matters?

Mississippi has over 4,000 children in foster care, many entering the system with nothing of their own. A single bag of essentials can bring dignity, comfort, and a sense of stability during a critical transition. At the same time, the state needs over 1,000 additional foster families. Nova Closet is working to close these gaps and bring hope where it’s needed most.
